Amber: The Daughter Front Cover

Book Information and Upcoming Events. Book Reviews Welcome.

Amber: The Daughter by Sadie Beckenridge is the sequel to Morgan: The Family, told from Morgan’s daughter, Amber’s perspective.
I thought it was interesting to explore the events of the first novel from a different perspective. It was compelling to see how the cycle of abuse which is perpetuated throughout generations was seen through a child’s perspective and how this influenced Amber’s life growing up and growing into her own person.
The novel is written as if it is a historical documentation of a family’s life which I thought added a degree of realism to the novel which I appreciated.
Finally, in terms of characterization, I liked being able to see the differences and changes which happened in relation to Amber’s perspective as she grew up. While in the first novel, Morgan was an adult throughout the entire book, it was interesting to see Amber grow from being a child to an adult.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a detailed study of a character surrounded by a cycle of abuse.
Amber: The Daughter by Sadie Beckenridge is available now from Archway Publishing.
